About

Plan A was very simple and relatively conventional; meet a beautiful woman, fall blissfully in love, marry, produce two wonderful children, nurture them towards successful adulthood, become a doting grandparent and finally grow old in comfortable, devoted companionship. The icing on the cake would be to follow an exciting, rewarding, reasonably lucrative career, which allowed and encouraged worldwide travel opportunities, whilst fostering a fun and varied social life in the company of a close-knit family and a great circle of friends.

Until late 2013 my Plan A was running smoothly and perfectly on track – a wonderful cake indeed!

And then, in quick succession, three diseases attacked my wife – the cornerstone of all my plans and aspirations – and Plan A was ripped to shreds. For three years she fought, raged and battled, whilst I became her bannerman as a 24/7 carer.

In June 2017 she finally lost her war.

What you can read about in the pages of this Blog is a series of events that will shape my life and become a plan, of sorts, for the future. However, whatever these events are, they are never – in my mind at least – going to match the desirability of Plan A.
